Welcome back to Term 5 our Summer Term. It’s hard to believe we are more than half way through the year. However, the days are getting longer and we are about to embark on another exciting term. We have lots of new things to look forward to and enjoy.
Some of our Year 4 children will be taking a trip to Liddington Outdoor Adventure Centre. I am sure they will return with many exciting tales to share.
Our Year 2 and Year 6 children have their SATs this term. I hope you will support us in supporting your children by ensuring that they are in school every day and particularly Year 6 during the SATS week Monday May 14th – Thursday 17th May. Every child in Year 6 counts and must be in school during that week.
We have 2 school closure days during this term Thursday 3rd May which is Polling Day and Monday May 7th which is Bank holiday Monday. The school is being used as a polling station and the decision has been made to close the school for the children on that day. However, we have asked for Year 6 children to be allowed to come in for the morning to continue their preparation for SATs.
Please have a look around the website. We have lots of information to support you and your child/children. The teachers will be putting up the new topic webs for this term as well as details of school trips and assemblies/ performances. We always welcome parents into school and I have been so pleased at the numbers of parents who have been attending the class assemblies and workshops during this academic year.
This month’s Value is Forgiveness and May will be Courage The children will be discussing these values during lessons and assemblies and we will be posting ideas on the website for you to talk to your child/children about Forgiveness and Courage and what they mean to you.
All that remains to say is have an enjoyable term and please try and join in as many of the activities that we will be offering to parents over the next term.
