Our Vision & Values

At Drove Primary School our greatest intention is to raise standards by promoting a school ethos which is underpinned by core values. These values support the development of the whole child as a reflective learner within a calm, caring, happy and purposeful atmosphere.

Our School Value

At Drove, we believe that the ethos of the school should be built on a foundation of values. The Values we focus on are:

These are at times addressed directly through lessons and assemblies but also permeate the whole curriculum. Either way, they are the basis for the social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and moral development of the whole child. We encourage children to consider these values, and thereby to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable them to develop as reflective learners and grow to be stable, educated, happy and civil adults.

At Drove, we aim to provide your child with the best possible education and the securest of environments. A relaxed yet dynamic feeling pervades the school with an ethos which suggests anything is possible.

Our biggest ambition is to give your child “the roots to grow and the wings to fly”.

The roots to grow from a solid academic footing which ensures that every child reaches their full potential, especially in the key areas of life. The wings to fly as a person, secure in knowing who they are and what they want from life.

British Values

We actively promote British values through our school vision, ethos, agreed rules, curriculum, and teaching. As such, we promote tolerance of, and respect for, people of all faiths (or those with no faith), cultures, and lifestyles.We prepare children and young people positively for life in modern Britain by supporting them through our words, actions, and influence, not just within school, but also within the wider community.

At Drove Primary School, we value the diverse ethnic backgrounds of all pupils and families and undertake a variety of events and lessons to celebrate these. We have found this approach to be enriching for all parties as it teaches tolerance and respect for the differences in our community and the wider world.

As part of The White Horse Federation, we passionately believe that by working together, the children are able to have a higher quality of education, and that as colleagues, we will also benefit from and reap the rewards of a values-based organisation where no one is left behind.
