At Drove we aim to provide your child the best possible education and the securest of environments. A relaxed yet dynamic feeling now pervades the school with an ethos which suggests anything is possible.
Our biggest ambition is to give your child “the roots to grow and the wings to fly.”
The roots to grow from a solid academic footing which ensures that every child reaches their full potential especially in the key areas of Literacy, Numeracy, Science and ICT. The wings to fly as a person, secure in knowing who they are and what they want from life.
To this end, we endeavour to ensure that children are encouraged to understand the high expectations we have of them and that they have the right to expect from us.
At Drove we are rightly proud of the rich tapestry of culture, religion, colour and faith which has become the hallmark of our school. We welcome and celebrate a mosaic of over 40 different home languages and 26 cultures making our school a vibrant centre of multiculturalism.
Our teaching philosophy is simple we aim to combine the best of tried and tested methodology with new and innovative ways of teaching.
Our biggest asset at Drove is our knowledge of your child both academically and emotionally. This allows us where necessary to bespoke teaching and learning programmes to their individual needs.
Our biggest ally is you the parents of our pupils and we rely on a close working relationship with you to help us make your child’s life with us the most profitable that it could be.
We pride ourselves on being a values-based school. We have 12 core values that are explicitly taught over the year. Values such as trust, co-operation and tolerance are embedded throughout our school community helping children develop socially and morally as well as academically.
Values are things we believe in that help us to make decisions about how to behave. They are the principles that guide our lives. Some commonly held values include thoughtfulness, respect, trust, love, friendship, courage… There are lots more values and many overlap.
Some values are quite tricky to understand and difficult to do every day; others are easier to spot and simpler to do.
Sometimes we forget about the values that are really important to us; we are too busy or we don’t actually know what the values are.
At Drove we look at values in detail so that we all have the words to describe them to each other and know how to spot them in ourselves and in others. We celebrate when people are showing values – by sharing them both on the website and in school.
Values Education is not just something that helps you to learn when you are younger; it is a set of tools that you will carry with you all your life. Understanding values will help you to make difficult decisions even when you are a grown-up.

Little Green Book
At The White Horse Federation we understand that every colleague is here for the best interest of the children. We want to ensure that no child is left behind and that the unique identity of each school is protected, celebrated and valued for the contribution it makes to ensuring children have the best education and experiences.
By being part of TWHF we passionately believe that by working together, the children are able to have a higher quality of education and that as colleagues, we will also benefit from and reap the rewards of a values based organisation where you are also, not left behind.
The Little Green Book is a set of promises that as colleagues, we make to each other and to our organisation, for the ultimate benefit of the children and families that our schools serve. Click on the image to read our Little Green Book.
